About Language Settings

By default, Memo automatically detects and matches the language of your source material. However, you can enforce a specific output language for all your generated content.

How to Change Language Settings

  1. Access your Settings by clicking the profile icon (desktop) or Settings tab (mobile)

  2. Go to the Configuration tab

  3. Find the "Language" section

  4. Select your desired output language from the dropdown menu

Understanding Language Options

  • Auto-detect (Default): Matches source material language

  • Enforced language: Forces output in your selected language

When to Use Language Enforcement

  • Studying materials in a specific language

  • Preparing for exams in a particular language

  • Creating consistent multilingual study materials

  • Converting content between languages

Important Notes

  • Language enforcement works across all generation modes

  • Some technical terms may remain in their original language

  • Quality mode provides better language consistency

  • Complex medical or technical terminology might be preserved in their standard form

Best Practices

  • Use auto-detect for single-language materials

  • Enable language enforcement when converting between languages

  • Select Quality mode for better language accuracy

  • Review generated content for any necessary adjustments

Troubleshooting

  • If you notice unexpected language mixing:

  • Verify your language setting is correctly selected

  • Use Quality mode for stricter language enforcement

  • Check that your source material is clearly readable

  • Consider re-uploading particularly complex documents

Note: While language enforcement is highly effective, some specialized terminology may be preserved in its original form to maintain accuracy and clarity.
