Having trouble with blurry PDF references? Here's how to improve image quality in Memo.

How to Adjust Image Quality Settings

  1. Open your Memo account

  2. Click on your profile icon in the sidebar (desktop) or tap Settings in the bottom navigation bar (mobile)

  3. Go to the Configuration tab (default tab)

  4. Look for "Image Reference Scale & Quality"

  5. Choose your preferred quality setting

Available Quality Settings

1x (Faster, Smaller Files)

  • Best for basic text documents

  • Fastest processing speed

  • Smallest file sizes

  • Recommended for slow internet connections

2x (Balanced)

  • Default setting

  • Good balance between quality and performance

  • Suitable for most study materials

  • Recommended for general use

3x (Slower, Larger Files)

  • Highest quality option

  • Best for detailed diagrams and small text

  • Larger file sizes

  • Recommended for medical textbooks and detailed illustrations

Where This Setting Applies

This image quality setting affects:

  • Learn Mode

  • Flashcard Mode

  • Anki .apkg exports

Tips for Best Results

  • Use high-quality source PDFs when possible

  • Try the 2x setting first before moving to 3x

  • Consider your device's storage capacity when using 3x

  • Remember higher quality means longer processing times

Still Seeing Blurry Images?

If you're still experiencing issues after adjusting the quality:

  • Verify your source PDF is clear and high-quality

  • Try re-uploading your PDF

  • Clear your browser cache

  • Check your zoom settings in your browser
